These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Percolate ("the app") and the website at https://percolateapp.com. By using the app or the website, you agree to these Terms.
You may sign in with Apple or Google, or continue as a guest. You are responsible for activity under your account. Guest accounts store data locally on your device; signing in enables cloud sync across devices.
Percolate is free to download and use. There is no subscription, no paywall, and no in-app purchase. Every feature — your shelf, the cupping log, label scanning, the flavor quiz, and the Year in Coffee recap — is included at no cost. Our only revenue comes from the affiliate links described below.
Coffee detail pages and selected articles may include “Buy from” links to roasters and specialty retailers. These are affiliate links: when you click one and complete a purchase, we may earn a small commission. This does not affect the price you pay.
Affiliate links are clearly indicated on the page where they appear. Percolate is not a roaster or retailer and does not sell, roast, distribute, or ship coffee. Your purchase contract is with the roaster or retailer, and any questions about pricing, shipping, returns, or product freshness must be directed to them.
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the FTC's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.
You retain ownership of content you create on Percolate, including cupping logs, ratings, private notes, community posts, and any reviews. By publishing a rating or any other content that you make public, you grant Percolate a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute that content within the app and on the website for the purpose of operating the service.
You may delete your public content at any time. Private notes and cupping logs remain solely under your control and are not licensed to us beyond what is necessary to operate the app.
You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, abusive, objectionable, or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior.
Any user can report content through the in-app "Report" button. We review reports within 24 hours and will remove violating content and, where appropriate, restrict or terminate the offending account. We reserve the right to remove content at our discretion.
The pick, similarity matches, and flavor suggestions are best-effort, based on catalog data and our taste-profile model. Personal taste perception varies, and a coffee changes as the bag rests and you dial in your grind and brew. Treat suggestions as a starting point.
No abuse, scraping, reverse-engineering, or interference with the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
The Percolate name, logo, design, and code are our property. Roaster names, coffee names, product names, and bag imagery are the property of their respective owners and are used for informational and identification purposes only.
Percolate is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Tasting notes, origin, process, and roast information are general reference and may not reflect every batch, harvest, or roast date. We make no claims about the suitability or compatibility of any coffee with any individual's preferences or health. If you have a known caffeine sensitivity or food allergy, consult the roaster or manufacturer before purchasing.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the app or the website shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the prior twelve months. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the service, including loss of data.
You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen within the app. This permanently removes all your data and cannot be undone. Percolate is free, so there is no subscription to cancel.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
