Percolate shelf screen showing your coffee bags organized by owned, wishlist, and finished
Quick Answer

Percolate is an iOS app for specialty coffee drinkers. Build a shelf of the bags you own, log structured cupping notes on every coffee, scan a label to identify any bag, and take a flavor quiz that matches you to roasts and origins you’ll actually like. A personal taste profile is built from the beans you brew. Percolate is not a roaster; we never sell coffee.

Built for coffee drinkers

Your shelf, organized

Every bag by roaster, origin, and status — owned, wishlist, finished. Roast, process, and elevation tracked per coffee so your shelf reads like a cupping table.

A cupping log that remembers

Tap to log a cup. Score aroma, acidity, body, and flavor on a structured scale, add notes, and rate the same bag across brews as you dial it in.

A pick for what to brew

Tell Percolate what you’re in the mood for and it suggests a coffee from your shelf — or your next bag — matched to roast, origin, and flavor.

A taste profile from your cups

Take the flavor quiz, then watch your palate sharpen with every cupping note you log. Built from real behavior, not a five-question quiz.

How does Percolate make money?

Percolate is free to download and use. When a coffee’s detail page shows a “Buy from” link to a roaster or retailer, we may earn a small commission if you use it — at no cost to you. There are no ads and no data selling. We do not sell or roast coffee.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Percolate?

Percolate is an iOS app for specialty coffee drinkers. You build a shelf of the bags you own, log a structured cupping note on every coffee, and get matched to new beans by roast, origin, process, and flavor — drawn from a personal taste profile built from what you actually brew, not just a quiz.

Is Percolate a roaster or coffee shop?

No. Percolate does not sell or roast coffee. When you want to buy a bag, the app links out to the roaster or retailer. We may earn a small commission on those links at no cost to you, and this is disclosed in the Terms.

Is Percolate free?

Yes. Percolate is free to download and use — building your shelf, logging cupping notes, scanning labels, and taking the flavor quiz are all included. There are no ads and no data selling. When you choose to buy a coffee, the app links out to the roaster and may earn a small affiliate commission.

How does the cupping log work?

Open a bag on your shelf and tap to log a cup. Percolate records the date and walks you through a structured tasting — aroma, acidity, body, flavor, and an overall score — plus free-text notes. Rate the same coffee across multiple brews to see how your impression changes as the bag rests and you dial in your grind.

What does the label scan do?

Point your camera at a coffee bag and Percolate reads the label to identify the roaster, origin, process, and roast so you can add it to your shelf or learn more in a couple of taps — no typing out a long Ethiopian washed natural by hand.

Is my shelf data private?

Yes. Your shelf, cupping notes, ratings, and taste profile are private by default. Nothing is shared, sold, or used for cross-user ad targeting. A rating becomes part of the community average only when you choose to publish it. See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

Will there be an Android version?

Percolate launches on iOS first. An Android release is on the roadmap but not yet scheduled.
